Some streptomyda resistant strains of Rhicobhrm aifoib having modulation ability were selected, and their mitrogemase activities, symbiotic effects on plant growth, and module dectomnleroscope was compared with those of the wild type.
After NTG treatment, as a mutagem, at the coaceutratMn exhibiting 99.7% lethal rate, 5 straims of soeptomydu resistant mutant having noddadng ability were selected.
Among these modulating mutant strains, 3 strains produced more nodules and 2 strains showed less modules than wild type. But their dtrogemase activities were decreased sigdflcauft, and nodule formadon tine was also delay compared with those of the wild type, and there was so remarkable difference In effects on plant growth. Microstructure of nodules by ekc&onmkroscqPy had many distinctive dlffaemcei between red dove nodules inoculated with wild type and mutants.
